SInce this is a touchy subject, I would like only the answer not an explanation as to why so we don't spark an immunization debate. Do you immunize your children?

Yes, but I delayed them all for at least a year after they were recommended.

Yes. The only one I decline is the chicken pox vaccine.

yes, but I will only do one new vaccine at a time to watch for reactions. I do regret the chicken pox vaccines though, because of the new information on shingles. I also make sure all vaccines given to my children are mercury-free, which thankfully, are now available in most places.

Yes, I immunize.

What is the purpose of starting a thread about something without opportunity for learning and debate? This site isn't about sitting around picking our butts and not thinking about what we do as parents.

I just didn't want mamas who do immunize to feel bad when all the non immunizing mamas were talking about how bad they think it is, or to start a heated debate about the pros and cons when really,it comes down to personal choices and preferences.

I understand your intentions, but I think that knowledge, when presented in a way that is not attacking and presented as INFORMATIVE is not problematic.

I agree. I do not vaccinate (the correct and accurate term, children given vaccines are vaccinated, not immunized.)

I'm confused by this. What's the difference? I always say immunized.

maybe because a vaccination might not always guarantee immunity

I think because there's no 100% guarentee you'll be immune to the disease.

Because vaccines do not give immunity. They just do not. They provide a measure of protection but that falls far short of immunity.
