Domestic violence support.

We received this email about a domestic violence fundraiser. I wanted to know if anyone would like to contact her if they are in the area and maybe speak at this function. I have put the body of the email up but haven't had the time to go to the website so please let me know what you all think.

Hi,
My name is Jess Thompson. I am a mom, wife, teacher. I was tired of feeling upset and helpless about the rash of murder/suicides that husbands were perpetrating against their wives. So, I organized an event called "The Portland Mom-o-Logues--it is a fundraiser for a local domestic violence shelter.

It will be an evening (May 8th--the Saturday before Mother's Day) where a group of women representing a variety of life experience will read essays about their perspective on mothering.

We do not have the teen mom voice represented. Would you be willing to post this request on your website? Were looking for a teen mom who would be willing to write and publicly read the piece in front of an audience of about 50. This is a Portland, Oregon event.

We have a blog: http://pdxmomologues.blogspot.com/

And, we're on facebook.

Thanks,
Jess Thompson

she also told me that the stories dont have to be about domestic violence they can be about mothering.
