My Girl

Hi, I am new to girlmom and I am wondering if any of this sounds familiar. I would appreciate any help you can give. I have 3yr,3mo old daughter who was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder,type A(fearful,cautious)when she was two. She was also diagnosed with ADHD by another agency. The sensory issues are the worst. She does not sleep well and will wake up between 2 and 5 times a night. She has night terrors, Her mouth is slightly open at all times and she still drools. Sometimes she sucks on hers tongue. Conversations are a problem but they may be getting better. I will ask her questions and she is not sure how to respond. She will also repeat herself often. CJ(her name)will make a statement and no matter how I respond will repeat it 7 or 8 times until I stop her. I will list her other problems;
1.Very,very,messy eater
2.Scared of peoples faces and voices
3.Has to know which way we are going at all times,even on which side of the sidewalk we will walk on
4.Scared of pinecones and other objects
loves being squished by us and untouched by others even her brother and will scream "get away from me".
5. She always has something wrapped around her body parts: fingers,toes,waist,head, and wristes,
6. Watches same shows on tv all day
7. Follows a certain routine.
8. Walks into a room and can't focus on any one thing. She looks all over the place so much that she can't do whatever it is that she is trying to do.
9. Lastly she will ask for something,watch you do it,asking all the while for it. It is like there is a connection missing. I need help. I did'nt list everything because I would be sitting here typing all day.
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate is and sorry for any errors.
Oh almost forgot, the doesn't talk softly, she is loud and does not seem to notice it. She just can't seem to get"inside voice".

Re: My Girl

Hello! I am a special education major and also a parent of a littel boy who gets speech therapy through early intervention. Does your daughter get any servcies through preschool special education? They would be able to aid you and your daughter with services. If you need more information let me know. I am actually going through a training program right now to become a parent advocate for Early Intervention (which is birth-3 years old).
