That's cute! I think e would have liked that when he was younger but he is way to old and cool to play with his dolls anymore lol. I love toys like that.
The only part I think is weird is the snap-mouth. It makes the baby look like some kind of alien. I'd prefer just put nipples on mommy and wire in her arms so you can pose her to hold the baby.
But, that's just me and my aesthetics. If I were having any more babies, this would be on my list to purchase, and I could satisfy my sensibilities by taking off the snap and stitching a smile on the baby. Matt had a fondness for smiling while he nursed. And then drooling milk all over me. :)
It's expensive, but I also think the price is fair. It's not Barbie. It's a handcrafted, fairly elaborate doll that probably took some time to make, and so I'm not horribly surprised that to make a living wage off that doll would make it expensive. I guess I just wish I was in a financial position where supporting that kind of toymaker was even vaguely feasible.
We have a set... but they are Amamanta Dolls. We got them when I was pregnant the second time and planning a homebirth as a way to help our eldest grasp pregnancy, birth, a new baby, breastfeeding. I think they really helped. She did really well at the birth. They are pricey, but I do agree that they war fair. They also have outlived any cheap plastic dolls we have been given.
ha! forgot to post the link: http://thestir.cafemom.com/pregnancy/113341/watch_a_doll_give_birth
Kind of a neat way to help kids see pregnancy and birth and nursing as normal. I don't like how dolls with bottles normalize formula feeding for kids.

hahaha I just showed some people at work the doll and they were like that is sooo disturbing! Can you believe how "disturbing" birth is?
