Hey I just found out our local public pools are free with a one dollare leisure card- that can be used all year! I am super pumped. What cool free things (or freeish) exist in yr neighborhood?
Splash pads, various random fun things at the library... Summer festivals = my favourite time of year! Something going on all the time.
We also have a program here where you can get subsidy for many/most classes and daycamps and activities for kids and even for adults, too, so there's so much that can be free.
And how could I forget the market! Live music and window shopping, and I always get a couple cheap maple syrup candies for the monkeys.
And then of course there's always playdates with friends!
A couple friends and I have set up jam-making and bread-making playdates. The older kids run off and play and the younger ones hang out with us in the kitchen while we teach each other... or just try pathetically to figure stuff out together. Loves it!
I think i may have just the friend for a date like that, sounds like something i need to do. Also for the invertment of about 10 bucks in goodwill rackets and 3 balls we have started playing tennis. Its a great way for so and i to get excercise and laughter, cause we suck.
we go to the playground, walk the canal trail, we have a membership to the strong museum of play, and another playplace called Kango (kinda like chucke cheese minus crazy people in mouse suits running around). There are also lots of festivals and our county fair is right in town (and since i am on the pageant committee we get in free).
we have a membership to the science center and the zoo in providence, we also go to the splashpad. We will be taking a road trip to visit my mom (she she will buy the groceries and we will all cook together)
Our public library hosts workshops for kids of all interests. Everything from science experiment demos to book making to hand drumming. At the end of summer they host a free evening at our local pool that has a water slide and everything.
We have free "Shakespeare in the Park", free "Movies in the Park", and block parties that are family friendly, and so much more.
I love our town!
We had a new splashpad open downtown and there are also movies in the park here- again i friggin love Columbus! The new splashpad has special kids days, last time they had free ice cream and crafts.
Sweet! Wish we had that here!
