Mine little ones are 5 and 4 :D They grow so super quickly! I came onto GM when I was preg with #1 and this site has served me well through the years since. I can't believe just how grown up some of the kiddo's are from here, I sort of feel like I know them, that I watched them grow up!
A is 8 already, Danielle? Wow! Where does the time go? I remember meeting you, with adcaela, when we all three had nursing babies.
My kids are 6 and 2, and they are soooooo different from each other. There's a lot that I used to think came from my parenting that, now that I have two, I'm pretty sure has more to do with their individual personalities.
I found girlmom when my older son was still teeny - I had actually looked and wished that there was a place like girlmom when I was pregnant with him, and I didn't find it. Then, I was looking at the webpage of a feminist bookstore in Austin that happened to be the same one that Alli used to work at. Her memorial was still up there and it talked her work here on girlmom. I remember coming to the site and reading all of her old posts, and wondering if I had ever crossed her path in Austin without knowing it. I wish I'd had the chance to know her in real life.
My squid is seven, six years since I joined GM. It is so unbelievable. It's neat seeing who all has new kiddos since super busy gm time. I want a new one for sure. We'll see.
Chicamocha, do you think you want another one?
MamaCaboose, I feel you on the parenting vs. personality thing. As squid gets older it becomes obvious that lots of things about him are just him!
Zoe is 9, she'll be 10 in a few months. I came on here first when I was pregnant with her. Allie was the first person to tell me that I didn't actually need to be with babydaddy despite what everyone else was telling me.
Jack and I are trying for number 2. We have donor, and have tried about five times, but no luck yet!
My son is 7 going to be 8 in August and my daughter is almost 1! Wow. I joined way back when I found out i was pregnant at 17 and a junior in hs. I remember googling teen pregnancy and coming up with a bunch of anti teen mom sites and finally stumbling upon gm. I'm so so glad i did!
My daughter, Rylie, was a baby back in the old days. She's 9 1/2 now, in 3rd grade, and just incredible. She's so much like me - not in looks, but in personality. It's hilarious to talk to her.
Since the old days, I also have a son, Ronin, who turned 6 in February. He's in kindergarten this year. Personality-wise, I think he takes after his dad IF his dad had been parented with some sensitivity and kindness. He's very funny and also incredibly affectionate.
my kiddo is 8. i was on gm when i was ttc, pregnant, and when he was an infant, and now i'm back! i also help raise my 14 year old nephew and my 4 year old niece.
DD is 11 and I joined when she was under a year! That was such a long time ago. I am really hoping to add one more kiddo soon but I have to get my other half fully on board.
I just realized most of us joined right around the same time 2003/2004 time. I joined in August 2003 when Ian was only 3 weeks old. I was BARELY 15 and so so scared! Now I'm 24 and Ian will be 9 this summer. I also have Aidan who will be 6 and Kiara will be 4 all this summer. I cant even believe it and I look back on old posts and see how I would dream about being 18 and away from teh abuse and able to make my own decisions. Time used to seem to drag back then. Now I look back and it seems to have flew by!
I joined girl mom when I was 19. Jay is now almost 8! I also have to kids that are 14 and 13 non-bio) and a sweet 9 month old named theori.
Girl mom helped m through a lot. And some really special members on here too. Love you guysv:)
