Will Smith is a Riot Grrrl

Not sure where to post this article, but I love this:

http://colorlines.com/archives/2012/05/will_smith_is_a_riot_grrrl.html

The quote: “We let Willow cut her hair. When you have a little girl, it’s like how can you teach her that you’re in control of her body? If I teach her that I’m in charge of whether or not she can touch her hair, she’s going to replace me with some other man when she goes out in the world. She can’t cut my hair but that’s her hair. She has got to have command of her body. So when she goes out into the world, she’s going out with a command that is hers. She is used to making those decisions herself. We try to keep giving them those decisions until they can hold the full weight of their lives.”

That's really perfect. I

That's really perfect. I still don't plan to let Matt grow out his hair though. He hates bathing with a passion like I've never seen. I told him the day he can take a shower without supervision or fighting with me is the day he can decide what to do with his hair.

He's pretty good about getting it cut though, and I let him tell the stylist how to cut it. He's into that Justin Bieber look where it's longer in the front. He doesn't like his forehead to show. LOL

But how will she whip it back

But how will she whip it back and forth? lol. I'm kidding, and I really do agree with this. E is allowed to do what he wants with his hair. The only time I didn't is when he wanted to bleach it, and I just didn't want to put all those chemicals on his head at a young age.
