So my son hasn't been listening at all today. And he scared his grandma this afternoon when I was at work by running out into the road unexpectedly. Thank god there weren't any cars. anyway I was about to put him to bed and I took him out into the garage to give night night kisses to daddy and he runs out of the open garage door and into the drive way. I had to run to catch him. When I went to pick him up he fell and scraped his face and knees. How do I live with this guilt that I pushed him down and he got hurt?? Its tearing me up!

Aw babe, would you rather he

Aw babe, would you rather he fell or got ran over? At the end of the day you went to grab him to protect him and he fell over accidently. Am sure after a cuddle he forgot about it and certainly wouldn't be holding against you like you are to yourself.

I felt a little better after

I felt a little better after his daddy got home and basically said the same thing. but i just felt so guilt because its not something you can take back and im not sure if he quite understands "im sorry" yet.

More than "I'm sorry," you

More than "I'm sorry," you should be adding the caveat "you can't run out in the street" and keep the focus on that part, especially if he doesn't understand the apology. At the end of the day, you didn't do anything you would've done had he NOT ran out of the safe zone toward the street.
