I am from Philadelphia born and raised but I now live in upstate PA, we moved knowing/thinking it could be much better up here for our kids rather than in the city where we had so much going on right in front of our doorstep. Some days I couldnt even walk down the street without fighting or getting into a nasty worded fight with somebody, couldnt drive without have somebody cut me off or go into road rage if I didnt use my turn signal crazy shit right there, A city where there is so much going on in front of your eyes that some people would never imagine or even believe I lived like that and the thing was I lived in one of the better neighborhoods go figure.
Well I just found out my step brother was robbed beaten and stabbed 2 times over 25.00 and a phillywear jerzy.. Hes in bad condition right now because when he was stabbed it puncured his lungs. When he tried to run away from the guy he was stabbed again in front of a police officer, who was trying to stop the attack. The attacker who was high on crack turned around to the cop with my brothers gear in hand and said my bother tried to rob him, the cop knew the truth because of the fact he said and watche dthe attack thinking it was just a street fight well it wasnt at all. He was stabbed by dull sissors that the crackhead found in an alley. WTF I am so scared for him and I have enough shit going on right now, I am just so glad I am out of that place and dont think I will be going there for awhile I just dont feel safe at all, I hope where I live will always be this nice and safe but I know nothing ever lasts forever...

Wow Nikki. I'm sorry about your brother thats an alwful thing to happen. itys a good thing you decided to move upstate. I hope he recovers fully and quikly. You are in my thoughts.

Thanks everyone, well I was updated on him this morning he is doing better, after 143 stitches emergency surgery and a bunch of other things to help him he said he feels fine now.. just a bit taken back by all of this..
He is talking to a lawyer to sue the city of philadelphia (police Im guessing)
He had a visit from the major of philadelphia, He came to say sorry and offer him victim adocate (sp)where he will be getting moeny from the state ( dont know that much about the new program they have) the police officer and partner are on paid suspension until further notice, I hope they take their badges because they r there to help not watch until something serious happens, thats all I really know as of now..

I am glad to hear he is doing better! Thank goodness! I hope that something does happen with those cops!! They need to be atleast suspended without pay!! They were not doing thier damn job! I hope they do get into more trouble. I cant stand when shyt like that happens.
Wow, glad to hear he's doing okay hon, that's scary to have something happen to someone so close to you! I can't imagine how scared your bro must have been. That's great that they got the guy who did it though, and that he's doing okay now. He'll be in my prayers for a speedy healing and recovery.

My brother worked as a security guard several years ago at Faygo, a local soda pop company here in Detroit. One night he caught someone stealing a case of pop from a truck in the parking lot, and attempted to stop him. He ended up with a broken nose, an ocular fracture, and two broken ribs. The oh-so-sympathetic Detroit police told him, while they were taking their report "ain't no case of pop worth all this." Of course they never caught the guy, but at least Faygo was gracious enough to pay his medical bills.
Sad to say, but it seems that the cops in high-crime areas are pretty jaded, and it needs to be a double homicide before you get their undivided attention.
there is so much violence everywhere sometimes it makes being a mom a really scary job!!!!
