lex keeps choking in her sleep. this is the 3rd time its happened, and luckily ive been right there all 3 times. but im starting to wonder if something is wrong with her for this to keep happening. what do you all think?
I remember when aaron was an infant, while he was sleeping he would take a sharp breath in, and he'd make this terrible sound that always made both BD and i go running... It almost sounded like he was choking, but that wasn't actually the case ever.
maybe that's what's happening? i wish i could describe the sound better... but it always freaked us out, when nothing seemed to be wrong.
the first 2 times it happened she vomited. and this time she didnt (maybe she choked on drool) either way, i dont know why shes doing it. she might stop breathing, i should have them recheck it, we spent a few days in the hospital before the mama gathering because she choked in her sleep, and they couldnt find anything wrong.
Does she have any cold symptoms? She could be choking on snot dripping down the back of her throat if she has a cold. Has she been checked for reflux? Jenna would couch and cough and cough in her sleep, I was sure she was gonna choke to death, but it was because of the reflux. Babies don't always have to have FTT to have reflux. Reflux is getting more and more common (maybe docs are just better at diagnosing it). I'd take her back to the doc just to be sure.
Does she stop breathing at all? She my have sleep apnia. I would call your pediatrition and see what they say.
