Bladder infection?

Fro about a week, it's been burning and hurting when I pee. Today my pee started smelling funny (it smells like it does when you are on Mag sulfate, for those of you who have been on that), and this morning it was really cloudy, but when I just went it wasn't see through. It was a milky yellow color, and I couldn't see the bottom of the toilet. Is this a bladder infection or something else? It still hurts and I went about 5 min ago.

Bladder infection?

most likely a baldder infection, and sounds like its pretty bad since you have so many symthoms. Go to the doctor for antibiotics and ask about the pain pills that can turn your pee orange... they'll know the ones you are talking about. Left untreated, a UTI can turn into a much more dnagerous (and painful) kidney infection.

Also, pick up a jug of cranberry juice and start drinkign it, while increasing your water intake. It'll help flush the infection out of your system.

The smell is the bacteria in your urine and the milky opaque color of the urine is from the extra protein in your urine as your body tries to fight the infection. For me the pain when I pee and the urgency/increased frequency are the first signs of a brewing infection.

I hate bladder infections and I get them ALL THE TIME. :-/ I hope you feel better soon.

Bladder infection?

I've only ever had ONE while I wasn't pregnant. When I am pregnant i get them all the damn time, but I usually don't get them very bad at all. Like my doc will tell me that I have a bladder infection and give me antibiotics, because of the bi-weekly then weekly pee tests. I almost want to go to my gyno for this, but I don't think I can because I'm not pregnant anymore.

One more question, is it normal to have lower abdominal pain when you have a bladder infection? Cuz I have pretty bad pain there after I pee. I ignored it because I'm starting to get sensation back from where my incision was, and it hurts right around there just on the inside, and I figured I was just still healing. I actually took one of my percocets for it. Am I just crazy, or is that common? I guess I'll call my doc on Thurs (no money until then) and get an appt then. Well, I have to go pee again (OWW!!), then I'm gonna go to bed, cuz it's gonna be a long night, because Kayla is getting sick, and wants one ounce every hour. Thats good cuz she's less likley to throw up, but it's hard on me.

You can buy the stuff that turns your pee orange overthecounter its called AZO its usualy next to yeast meds and midol. It only helps with the pain it doesn't cure UTI's. I have a bladder condition and use all the time it works great and its only five or six bucks. Try to get some if you have to wait to go to the doctor. If you are breastfeeding you might need to ask if you can take I dont really know. And about seeing your gyno I still see mine from almost everything.

Bladder infection?

I've never had a C-section or staples or anything, so take this with a grain of salt...

I do get a decent amount of dicomfort or pain with a bladder infection. I've always assumed its from my muscles tightening all the time because they think that my bladder is full. Its got to be tiring for the muscles to constantly be trying to hold in a full bladder's worth of urine.

To say that it's "normal" to experience that pain may or may not be correct--to the best of my knowledge, pain like that is a sign that your infection is a little more advanced. I would get on this today if you can.

it definately sounds like a UTI. you should go to the doctor as soon as you can, and in the mean time, drink as much cranberry juice and water as you can. this really helps. you want to get it cleared up as soon as possible because kidney infections SUCK! (i had a UTI from july until late september this year ... right in the middle of my pregnancy ... and it actually ended up as a kidney infection, which sent me into premature labor). also, it's really important to have really good hygein. UTI's are usually caused by ecolli from feces somehow getting into the urethra, so you should make sure to be extra clean down there and take mostly showers instead of baths (this was SO hard for me, since i hardly ever go to bed without a relaxing bath first). also, my doctor recomended that i avoid sex, since it could aid the spread of bacteria.

also, the pills that turn your pee orange really work wonders. i was amazed when i didnt have to almost cry every time i peed. you can get them over the counter.
