i didnt finish highschool, i got my ged instead. i want to go to this certain college. but i need my sat's to get in. or i could take an entrance test . i think i would benifit from the sat more because that wont limit me to only this one school( even tho i do believe this is the school i want to go to) i plan to start slowly, taking one course at a time untill i finish. any tips on preparing for the sat's and starting college after not being in any kinda school for a long time. thanks ladies

you can get a book from the library & study from home. work an hour a day on it. take a practice exam, straight through as if you were in the test. figure out the rules (can you take a calculator, what are the sections, what kind of math will be tested)

there are nonprofits that help people thru SATs (like Admission Possible)

if you have $, you can take a class.

just try to do yr best!

The best thing you can do to raise your score on the SAT's is to answer every question - it basically works like this - if you get the right answer, you get full points - if you get the one of the wrong answers they consider close, you get 1/2 points - if you get the really wrong answer, you get 1/4 points - but if you don't put down any answer you get no points.

I found process of elimination to be a really good strategy. Look at all the possible answers and start by eliminating the ones that you know for sure are wrong. Then you just have a few left to choose from and you can often use logical reasoning to figure out which one of these is the most likely.

Even if you are left staring at two and you have no clue which if the two it is, you're still giving yourself a 50/50 shot , which is way better odd than pure random guessing or even worse, leaving it blank!
