ok so i went to the DR yesterday and got my internal done. She said my cervix was closed... all that good stuff :roll: , but last night i *think* i lost my mucus plug. it looked exactly how its described in all the books ive read. It was pinkish, all that... now my question is, was it my mucus plug? or was it just from my internal exam or what? thanks
You could have recieved a slight stratch from your exam, thus making your mucus look pinkish in color. But it could have also been your mucus plug. Why this may not be a sign of labor about to begin for you, I'd call your doctor just to make sure hun. Better safe than sorry.
Luckily, my mucus plug grew back(?) (Not sure of term...) and I'm no longer dilated/soft so therefore I'm not in pre-term anymore.
Okay...so yeah. Perhaps just call your doctor or the after hours nurse to see what you should do.
last time I got an internal, she said "if you get bloody show, it's just because I checked you," and she showed me the bloody mucous on her gloved fingers.
Your body is constantly creating more mucous. You very well did lose your mucous plug, because she was in there fooling around with your cervix. But unless you are going into labor or are getting good and dilated, there's no reason why your body wouldn't create another one.
And on the other hand, the cervix is way more sensitive during pregnancy, and many women have bled just from sex. So in general, I would say not to worry about it unless you're having any other problems (cramps/contractions, etc..).
