What do you do when you're on bedrest with a toddler?

I was on bedrest from 32 to 36 weeks with Ryan and he was born 6.5 lbs at 36 weeks, perfect and healthy. However, I know the second time around I'll most likely be on bedrest again, and with a little toddler I don't know who will take care of him. Any advice??

Good question, I'm interested in this as well. I was on bedrest while pregnant with my son from 30-31 wks (He was born at 31 wks). It was very scary for me and I hope that it doesn't happen that way again. If it does, then I will be on bedrest while having to take care of my 4 yr old son. Yikes!

Oh my god, 31 weeks. Sounds like he is doing great now. That must have been scary to have seen the little guy so much earlier than you expected. Since he's of preschool age, if you were to get pregnant again you could try to build a network of friends through preschool/daycare and have them take turns helping you out. I'm think I want them 2 years apart which would mean conceiving in spring of next year and with him that age I wouldn't know what to do with him all day while I lay there helpless.

Tryu doing simple activities with your toddler... like reading, coloring, easy crafts, scrapbooking, etc. Also put a TV and VCR in your room so when you want to rest, your babe can still be amused. Also, try to keep snacks and stuff handy so you don't need to keep jumping in and out of bed. Prepare everything at the beginning of the day. Good luck!!
