Okay, so today I went to the doctor to find out for sure if I'm pregnant. They did a urine test and it slowly but surely came up positive. So they were all, "Congratulations you're pregnant!!"
Then they wanted to do the first ultrasound right then and there to see how far along I am. I was so excited, but when they did the ultrasound, they couldn't find anything. The doctor was telling me how that is very normal esp since I am so early into the pregnancy (4wks6days since last period). The uterine lining was very thick and I may not even be that far along because my cycles are so long (like 33-36 days). She said that she would just schedule me for another ultrasound in 2 weeks and that we should definitely see something by then.
So just when I was starting to feel okay again, she tells me, "BUT... if you start having painful cramping, go to the ER because it could be an ectopic pregnancy." Argg............... Why'd she have to say that? Now I'm going to be stressing OUT until my next US (which isn't until Nov. 17!!!!).
I mean, I've been researching it on the internet and I've been getting good news. First of all, it would be very unlikely for me to have an ectopic pregnancy and secondly, I read that the earliest visible gestational sac is usually seen at 4.5 weeks - and this is pertaining to the avg. 28 day cycle. Seeing as my cycles are so long, I would obviously have ovulated later.
Anyway... I can go on and on... but I'm just making myself feel worse. These next three weeks are going to go by soooooooooooooo slowwwwwwwwww.
