I was just curious on how your children sleep? How old are they? And if they are over 6 months how did they sleep?
The reason I ask is because Andrew loves to sleep on his stomache and when he is on his back he does not sleep to well. I KNOW with all the information that I have read about SIDS. My mom yells at me if she sees him on his stomache and at the same time I want to yell at myself. I only do it once and a while.... I know a bunch of you are going to tell me dont dont dont!! GO ahead I just would like to here what you guys do for sleeping?

I don't think there is anything wrong with your baby sleeping on his stomach as long as he is not alone in a crib. If you are supervising him (co-sleep, or in a bassinet or something with you nearby). My babies slept on their sides because that's how they fell asleep nursing. I am still nursing Jasper to sleep, but Ahlianah ussually sleeps on her back now. If you don't smoke, your baby wasn't born premature, and you are aware of him when he is sleeping, I wouldn't worry too much. :)
You're not supposed to lay a baby on tummy because of SIDS.
But remember, this is the new rule, it's only been the norm for about 10 years. When we were babies and when our parents were babies, tummy sleeping was advised. The fear then was that the baby could spit up and choke.
If you do decide to lay your baby on his stomach, make sure there are no heavy blankets or stuffed animls or pillows that could keep him from breathing. Also, infant exposed to cigarette smoke are at higher risk.
Rylee always slept better on her side, now she's 9 months and sleeps on her belly with her butt up in the air! it's kinda cute! But she rolls around in her sleep so much now that I wake up and think she got out of her crib somehow but she is really all curled up in the corner!
How old is your baby? if he is old enough to lift his belly up off the floor to a crawling position,I wouldn't worry about it too much, and he most likely wouldn't suffocate. Rylee went through a stage like that for a couple months and I let her sleep on me belly to belly. (I wuold be laying on my back and she would be on her tummy on top of me)
jon sleeps on his side, he was never much of a stomach sleeper.
I slept on my stomach as a baby tho my mom says.
Ryan sleeps on his side. if im holding him tho, he likes to sleep on his stomach...
He is 3 months. He can not lift his belly up but he does have a pretty strong neck and can lift his head up when "tummy time"(awake playing). He does sleep on his side a lot too.
lucien alsways sleeps on his side (we co-sleep and thats how we fall asleep while nursing). hes doesnt like being on his back and will usually wake up if i try and place him on his back while hes asleep. i call it the turtle theory - he flails around like hes trying to right himself, hes trapped and immobile if he cant feel the ground with his arms or feet. he will sleep on his back sometimes if hes leaning up againts a pillow or something else but likes his side the best.
chey sleeps on her side or on her back. She has never liked to sleep on her belly. If your near by I don't think it would be a problem if Andrew was on his belly.
Laerin refused to sleep anywhere but her tummy, i got a special mesh mattress so she could sleep that way without harm of sufficating. now she is three and she sleeps....all over the place.
Awww... Zoe used to sleep with her butt up in the air. I asked my mom about it and she said it's really common for little kidlets to do. She grew out of it, though (sigh). It was so cute!!
Jasmine is 10 months old and she falls asleep on her back, but usually when i look at her after a while, she's turned to her side.
I don't think theres anything wrong with him sleeping on his stomach, if it's not all the time. The best times to let him do that would be when your awake (like a daytime nap) and you can stay near him, just to be on the safe side!
My baby is 2 months, he sleeps on his side or his back. He would prefer to sleep on his tummy but thats just too scarey for me. I have found that he starts best on his side but then turn to his back 1/2 way through some of the time. I put a rolled up blanket infront of him so he doesn't roll to tummy from side!
We co-sleep alot of the time and he sleeps on his tummy then sometimes, but i dont generally feel comfortable enough to let him do that in his basinet. Its all about your comfort level i guess? I have read that most babies will sleep as well on there backs as there tummys after awhile but that they get used to being on the tummy from being held s it more comfortable for them.
