me and Ryan are sick. i think im worse tho. but i dont know what to do. he doesnt have a fever, but i know if he feels the same way i do, then he feels horrible. i guess cuz he doesnt feel good, he wants to be held but because im sicker than he is, i dont wanna hold him and make him worse. i there anything i can do for him (or mo). this is the first time hes been sick si i dont know what to do.

that should say *or me*...
First off - take care of YOU. You can't help him if you get too sick. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, and eating, even if only in small amounts. Get as much rest as you can (realizing this is kind of a joke with a wee one)
Second - Keep a close eye on him. Watch his temperature, and keep an eye on how much he is eating and peeing/pooping. If he seems to be listless or not interacting as much as normal, call the doctor. Those can be signs of dehydration or more serious symptoms. Most of the time, babies just get a bit miserable, and need extra love during this. Lots of cuddling, warm baths, etc help to soothe them.
Holding him won't make him worse, if you are both sick he probably already has the same virus you do. If you are still nursing, cuddle him in bed and nurse as much as possible, that will give both of you enough rest, and the antibodies in your milk will really help him. Make sure to take care of yourself, too. A really soothing position for your baby is to lie on your back and lay your baby on his tummy on your thighs with your knees up and rock him back and forth. If you keep him in bed cuddling and nursing with a large glass of water by your bed, you will both get much needed sleep and fluids.
I think she posted that she wasn't nursing anymore.
no im not nursing anymore. i feel horrible hto, and so i cant imagine how he feels. he'll only sleep is if hes laying on my stomach (think his head on my shoulder, like when yuou burp a baby).... blahhh
Im sorry hunny. Feel better! Ryan too!
Sounds like what Kade and I had...I'm so sorry Heather. Remember to drink lots of liquid.
If possible, get a huge glass of ice water, put pillows and blankets on the couch, grab the remote (if you watch t.v.) (Or you could pop in movies), and just cuddle the sickness away. Throw in a few naps as well. Make sure that your diapers and wipes are close at hand so you don't have to travel as far to change him.
I hope the two of you feel better soon!
This happened to me and Andrew about 2 months ago. It sounds like this happens to a lot of new mothers. Just get better!! :)
