Combination Skin

Any mama's have combination skin that might be able to help me out? I've tried a lot of different skin products, but nothing really helps. The skin on my cheeks and whatnot is just fine, but then I always develop a huge oil slick on my forehead, that I have to blot with tissue just about every hour to get rid of. I've tried masks, cream, hell I've even tried toothpaste masks on the forehead to try and dry the area out.

It's getting kind of annoying.

Do any girls here know of any products that actually work?

I swear by that Neutrogena orange facial bar. It's for acne-prone skin and it really dries the problem areas out.

it sounds odd, but you need a good moisturizer. I use one for acne-prone skin and it helps balance out my problem areas.

I found the more i tried to dry my skin out, the more problems i had with my skin. My oil glands were over-compensating for all the oil i was taking off my skin, thus my skin was just getting oilier and oiler.

Now i wash with a gentle non-soap cleanser (spectro jel, recommended to me by my dermatologist) and clean and clear's dual-action moisturizer, and now my skin is more balanced than it was before.

I have the same problem!! I have a clinique face wash, it looks like regular bar soap and works well for me. Kinda spendy though, so I cant afford it right now, but I recommend it.

When I had problems with that I swore by Proactive. Now that my face has cleared up (from birth control i believe) I just used Morning Burst by Neutrogena.

ProActive really works? I always wanted to try it. Is it really as 'miraculous' as the infomercials make it seem?

My step sister uses Proactive and has been for about a year now, she has acne and from what i can tell, its working well for her.
Her face isnt suddenly porcelain and spotless... but she has less breakouts, less irritation, and overall her skin looks better.

Cetaphil Face lotion w/ 15spf works wonders, so does the face wash. I totally agree with Emily that not using a face lotion will make more oil (I dont know if you do, just some general advice).
I absolutely love their face wash. My cheeks and under eye area are really dry and fine, but I get really bad breakouts and oil near my nose and chin. My skin is also sensitive and this doesnt bother it at all.

It did sound odd, but I've been trying it the past few days. For months now, twice a day I'd scrub my face with those alcohol pads, then put on an absorbing layer of the same acidic stuff to dry out the skin, and it worked okay on my cheeks and everything but I'd get a build up of oil across my forehead.

The last couple of days, I've only used the absorbing layer on problem spots, like if I have a pimple I'd like to clear up, and used a clairol face lotion on the rest of the area, even my forehead, and the oil slick is disappearing.

Thanks Emily :)
Thanks girls!

my mom bought me this stuff from avon... it works great.
i also got that prescription called differin gel...
it kinda dried out my skin so i didn't use it everyday, but it got rid of breaks outs in the "t-zone" area.
also, my sister used to break out really bad and got some stuff from bath & body works that cleared her up
