extended co-sleeping

Tatianna's 27 months old now and still sleeping with me. For the most part I love it...I get her to sleep with boobie and then sneak outta the room and do my own thing(SCHOOLWORK lol).
There are times where I think I'm going to go insane laying there and waiting for her to fall asleep.
I didn't want to put much emphasis on it while I was in school, so we just kept cosleeping and breastfeeding to fall asleep...I think I want to night wean and know that I should be starting to try it out now while I'm on break...but it takes so much time and effort and I don't really think I'm wanting to nightwean her *sighs* but there are those times where I don't want to be touched anymore...whoa way off topic now... I think cosleeping is great as long as you're both for it and if *YOU* can't take it anymore then its your right/need/obligation to stop it...it'll be of no benefit if you're not getting a good sleep or holding a grudge b/c of it..did I make sense at all? I hope.

My 4 yr old still sleeps in our bed. I don't see that changing anytime soon.... maybe when we move into a two bedroom apartment. ;)

Tay has her own room and she wouldn't sleep in there. So I put her bed in my room.Well she won't sleep in her bed even if it is in my room. LOL So she is still sleeping with me. I guess she will sleep with me for as long as she wants too. I would LOVE to have my bed back to myself and sometimes I put her in her own bed but by morning she always ends up back in my bed.

co-sleeping

I was just reading what some of you girl mamas had to say about co-sleeping, and I can totally relate to these stories. I put my son, Jovan, who is 2 yrs. old, in his own bed, in his own room. He's just starting to talk so he tells me to "sit" on the bed so he can fall asleep. I thought we were making progress because I used to have to actually get into bed with him and sleep with him. But come morning, he's in between me and my husband! I hate it cuz it's bad enough sleeping in the same bed with my husband, he's one of those attached sleepers that has to cling on to you like seran wrap and we both end up on the edge of the bed, ARGH! And then to have Jovan in there too when all he does is kick every 5 min! I need to either get my own bed in my own room or just start locking my bedroom door!

My son is two and we are still co-sleeping... though I'd never thought of us as extended cosleepers before

I don't think that there would be a certain age where the benefits suddenly stop. I do think that everyone has to be happy with the situation, and there are all sorts of ways of co-sleeping that don't involve your child depriving you of bedspace and sleep :)

I do think it's much easier to co-sleep being a single mama with one child... I've had a few nights of co-sleeping with an extra person in the bed and I didn't get any sleep. So I can understand it when those who co-sleep with more than one other person start looking at other options.

Personally I would love to co-sleep for as long as Arwen wants to, and if I'm lucky enough to have more children one day, I idealistically hope that I will have a giant bed where everyone sleeps together for as long as they want to :)

I co-slept with Alexis for 9 months I think. And Mason for about 3.

I, personally, don't like sharing a bed with someone who can toss and turn and potentially fall out accidentally. I've always liked having a bed all to myself. But I made an attempt both times. And I can't say I didn't enjoy cuddling with my monsters.
