Hey all,
I was having some pains that I thought might be labor pains. My daughter is not due until late January, but I thought of all the premature babies. My water didn't break or anything, but I am just having these strange pains. Any ideas as to what they are or how to settle them?

pains,

can u describe the pains??
yea,
they dont feel like cramps, but they are not as bad a contractions or anything. They last a few minutes and then they come back a while later, idk what they are.

sounds like braxton hicks to me... are they in your back or in your stomach?
ya i would say they r braxton hicks too... but if they get regular then i would call ur doctor/mifwife... cuz it could be preterm labor... how many weeks r u?
They deffinetly sound like braxton hicks. I had those near the last few months but they werent that bad at all!! I also had bad pains and I think it was from the stretchy of ligements because I GOT BIG!! I hope they feel better. If you are that concerned call your doctor :) GOOD LUCK MOMMA!!
I've been prgnant for about 31 weeks, (hmmmm.....bad at math, lets see 8 months...hmmmm) around that anyway. What should I do?

i used to get the worse pains in my round ligaments. scared me every time. keep hydrated, it was what worked the best for me. and potasium, like bananas. though if its b hicks, i dont know what to do about those
I agree with the others that it is probably braxton hicks. I'm due around the same time as you and i get them occasionally. The other night i had them for like 3 hours straight. Try laying on your left side and drinking water for like an hour or so.
I agree, and another idea, I had severe pains that were actually the muscles in my abdomen and the legiments around that area streching.
Make sure you're eating enough potassium as well (bananas, mangos, etc.) It can help the cramping of muscles ease a bit.
all it sounds like is Braxton Hicks, drink alot of fluids and lay down, dont stress,i had braxton hicks in my 6-8 months, everything will be fine just keep yourself hydrated, and lay down
