My bff's mom is an OB and I have always gone to her, but it has been duering her free blocks, and some check ups were favors and she always answered my questions and has been so helpful and supportive when my own paretns kicked me out and disowned me. (
Is it the right thing to do to get a regular doctor and have regular checkups not spontanius ones?

How important is having a regular doctor?

You are supposta go during certain times in your pregnancy ( not sure when, because I went 2 times a week ). But I felt it was VERY important I had a regular doctor, it made me comfortable with well...them ( it was a group ) so when it was time to have my son, I was comfortable and what not. Plus they know your history and all your backround.
Where i go they see you once a month till you are about 30 weeks, and then at 30 weeks you go every two weeks till you are 36 weeks. At 36 weeks you then go every week. You should be seeing her on a regular basis especially since you are getting close to your due date.
If you do not see a doctor on a regular basis you miss getting tests run that are important. Also, you have things that need to be done regularly, checking your cervix, babies heart rate, etc. I dont know if you get these things done when you go see her, but you def. need to see a doc regularly now that you are closer.
It's not important to have your cervix checked unless there is a medical reason (i.e. incompetent cervix, preterm labor, ect). Doc tors DO suggest that you DO go regularly, and since you are in your last month most docs would want to see you once a week. I ALWAYS went once a week tho, so maybe see if she can see you more regularly now?
it is important to have an OB that you see reguarly because if you dont than you wont have then care you need, you need a regular OB to tell if you the baby is in the right position(later on in your pregnancy),if everythings okay, and a bunch of other stuff,it is very important that you have a regualar OB
I saw my doc regularly with both of my pregnancies and I believe it really benefited me. I also had a health nurse visit through my first pregnancy to help educate me on my body and how to care for my baby once she arrived.
I think seeing a regular doctor is important - and it gives you piece of mind. I know it made me feel relieved and excited to go and get a good check-up. With Melinda, I went to a group physician. I thought it would be good to meet all of the doctors before I gave birth, but I wouldn't recommend that now. I went with one doctor with Margaret and he was great! He even ended up being my doctor for the actual delivery. I hope all goes well, take care!
