My vulva has been itching REALLY bad recently. For like the past week and a half, maybe 2 (I think it's related to the abortion). Well, it itches really bad, and hurts, and has started bleeding from like scratching. The skin feels rough, and there is a funky smell too. Also the opening of my vagina is swollen. I got Vagisil today and it has helped SOO much, but what is causing this? It sorta happened before but only when I shaved, and only on the labia. Any clue?
when you've shaved, it could of been from getting soap inside a bit ( i've done that before) and swollen up and been sore. I dont know why your itching or a funky smell... could be an STD.. might want to get that checked out.

You should go to your doctor and get an infection check. Off hand though it does sound like you have a yeast infection.
Yep sounds like Thrush or a similar infection. I'd see the doc for some meds!

i don't think yeast infections smell....could be a bacterial infection but you should def go get it checked out

I agree with going to the dr to get it checked seeing how the abortion was so recent you are susceptable to infection.
That happened after my cryo...it was really embarressing for me (the odor). Definately get it checked out because I ended up having an infection and needed keflex (a really strong antibiotic).
I don't think it's yeast because there is no unusual discharge, but I do have abdominal pain (very mild) on and off. I guess I'll give them a call, or just wait until Monday when I have an appt anyway.
Yeah I agree, with the odor it is probably a bacterial infection. It might be BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) I know when I had it there was an odor. So call your doctor just to be safe.
Hmm, I've had the before, I think it might have smelled different tho. I'm not positive, but I have an appt on Monday so I'm gonna ask him about this and see if he can give me something (ANYTHING) for the itch and pain and constant bleeding even when I've been a good girl and not scratched it. Everything else is good tho, no more bleeding from inside, my incisions are healing very nicley (from getting my tubes tied) everything else is great. I'm hoping it's not a uterine infection tho, because my tummy does hurt a little on and off, but the pain is very mild, and I think a serious infection would hurt worse ya know? I'm kinda afrid that it's the same infection that I had after Kayla was born where I could've died had I gone home, I don't want to die because of this. But I don't feel bad enough to where I can justify going to the ER either. I'd probably only catch something even nastier and give it to the whole fam if I did that.
i had a yeast infection before and didnt have a discharge and had a funky smell. my dr diagnosed it cuz i thought that i had a std, but i guess everyone is diffrent...but i would def. make a drs appt so that they can tell u wat is up for sure
I go tomorow at 3pm. It's my abortion check up, but I'm sure he's gonna look at my vagina.
