transition food from baby->self feeding

You'd think i should remember all this since i've been through it before, but that was a couple years ago so help me out! *LOL*

Marley is 10 mos old now. She's only got her front 2 bottom teeth, but is really good about gumming everything to death before she swallows. We started making her baby food a few months but the past month she's been acting like she's wanting more solid-like food. So i've been giving her cooked carrots, green beans and she'll eat this baby cereal (like cheerios) and bread and potatoes.

What else can i offer? I want to give her more of a variety. My cousin gave me some baby yogurt, but it is made w/ dairy and i didn't think you were supposed to offer dairy till 1yr...right? So is like cheese and such out till then? Any ideas?

yogurt is okay after six months. You can offer her any soft raw fruits (avocado, banana), or veggies that are cooked soft (squash, carrots, potatoes, brocolli, cauliflower, peas, corn, green beans, beets, asparagus), applesauce (the kind with no added sugar), cooked rice, noodles, cut up tofu, beans are also good but it doesn't take many to constipate.

Everything that MamaButterfly suggested are good ideas. About the dairy thing, they say to wait for dairy to make sure that there aren't any allergies. Cows milk they say to wait for 1 yr, but I think cheeses you can start offering at about your daughters age as long as she isn't allergic. Maybe just watch her a little extra for a few days after giving her the dairy product. I started making Rylee grilled cheese sandwhiches about 2 months ago, but she has 8 teeth. Maybe make a call to her ped. and ask him/her when it is okay to offer certain things. Maybe you could give her tiny peices of meat, like chicken(if you eat meat) Usually I just give Rylee whatever I am eating. (as long as it isn't junk)
