Okay, ever since Maddie was old enough to put her hand in her mouth, she's been gagging herself. She stopped for awhile, and now she's doing it constantly. She's almost 15 months. She'll just shove her whole hand in her mouth and gag herself until she gets tears in her eyes. It didn't bother me at first but then my mom said she might be bringing up stomach acid. I know she's not doing it for attention because we've always ignored her when she did it. Is this normal?
Hey girl! I know I'm not much help here, but my baby is 13 months old tomarrow has been doing the exact same thing! I don't know why and I haven't yet talked to the doctor about it. She will gag herself until she throws up! It can be kind of scary! Anyway if you find out what they might be doing and why before I do please be sure to pm me! my daughter did it too when she was that age. for her it was just a phase and she eventually stopped, but it was nerve wracking. I tried not to make too big of a deal out of it to her too cause I was afraid that if she saw it got a reaction from me she'd keep doing it. I guess it's pretty common
Zoe did that ALL the time at that age and younger. I have no words of advice, only that she grew out of it. It's disterbing, and if you're worried about stomach acid, I would talk to her pediatrition about it. but, Zoe seems to be fine in anycase.
Andrew does it but he is only 6 months old so i dont htink he knows better or yet on what it is doing..

L did this. I think it was just her realizing what would happen and enjoying the reactions of her own baby.
Todd's science teacher was pregnant and had another wheni was pregnant and she was always telling him about her son doing this. i think its totally normal.
