*felt left out that there's a million and two breastfeeding questions and not one formula fed one in the bunch*
Trey had to be put on lactose free formula when he was 3 months old, after 2 months of trying to breastfeed and having something in my milk give him a reaction (I switched my diet up a lot, took out foods, added others, gave it time) and working with a health nurse to help me with my breastfeeding, I finally just weaned and put him on formula (He got better right away surprisingly.) Anyways, he has to be on lactose free formula because he's lactose intolerant in a bad way.
Lactose free formula doesn't have much fat in it though, and I was thinking about switching to a soy formula which is higher in fat. Trey's been gaining little bits of weight but not nearly as much as I'd be comfortable with. He went from the 43 percentile to the 19th with his weight, and is already 29 inches long so he's really tall and just really really see-his-ribs skinny.
Would it affect his tummy too much to switch formula's do you think?
Is soy better then lactose-free? What the heck is the difference?

when we swiched Malory's formula we did it slowly.. one bottle of the new stuff a day for two days.. then two bottles.. and so on. she seemed totally fine with it.. didnt upset her tummy or n e thing.
A lot of times lactose intolerant babies (and even older people) end up not being able to tolerate soy either. I'm not sure the reason but if you're worried about fat maybe try LactoFree LIPIL. I think the DHA and ARA is a load of bullshit (cause it was approved for food in general not just formula) but on the flipside it has more fats because of those two things.
