Alli and I leave for our vacation in SEVEN DAYS and my period is set to come right before we get there. It will RUIN MY VACATION and this is the only vacation like this we'll have for a very long time!
is there ANYTHING I can do to make it come now? I know you can bring on a late period with herbs, but can you do it with a period you just want to come early? I don't care if it makes me sick, I will not have my blissful beach vacation ruined by my stupid fucking period.

i took three bc pills on one day and immediatly started. but i kinda felt like shit for two days. it sounds like it will be worth it to feel craptastic in order to have a period free vacation. good luck!!
if you are on bc pills you can keep it from not coming by not taking the empty pills. Idk if you are or not. I would let you borrow some but i am on pops so idk if they are different.
nope, no BC pills here. :( I just searched my bathroom for this four month supply of Seasonale that Alli got as a free sample from her doctor when we were intrigued by the idea of four periods a year, but i think i threw it out because the nifty little case it came in would have been way too appealing to the kids..
Try flushing with vitamin C?
DON'T take bc like that, it can REALLY fuck up your system. I would put parsley leaf up against your cirvex- change it twice a day, and before you go to bed. Also, take as much vitimine C as you can (be forwarned that this WILL upset your stomach-- lots of time on the toilet), and Raspberry leaf tea-- 1 cup drunk 4-5 times a day.
I've heard that exercising helps it come early, but I think you might have had to be doing it alot during the month. I know how you feel, mine usually comes around the 15 and I am leaving for Maui on the 16 :(
Do you get sick, tired and crampy during your period, and that's why you want it now? Or are you concerned about the mess while wearing a bathing suit? (Just trying to figure out viable solutions.)
Menstrual extraction is one option:

Or, in the case of "mess" inconvenience, have you tried Instead or a Diva Cup?

I've found Instead at KMart and Walgreen's and other similar stores...you can wear them for up to 12 hours at a time, and also have blood-free sex while wearing them.
I hope you have a fabulous vacation!! :D
just in case anyone was waiting with bated breath to hear about the status of my uterus, i got my period yesterday night. i'm using the stupid ass keeper that i hate, as it's suctiony powers tend to reduce the length of it, and doing my bellydancing and hula workouts, since all the hip movement seems to draw the blood out. so everything should be fine, if not, at least i know i won't get it on the plane on the way there.
my periods aren't any big deal, i just didn't want it to be there on my romantic kid-free vacation. with two periods a month (alli's and mine) we can't let blood be a big deal during sex if we ever wanna get any, but i'd rather not leave big blood stains on the mattress in someone else's condo.
more than you wanted to know probably, but hey, i had to share my excitement! thanks for all the help!
You don't have to answer this if you don't want to... DOn't you and Alli get your periods at the same time becuase of the living together thing?
Also my period is WAYYYY shorter the more I orgasm. So get off a lot and push all that blood out with uterine contractions!
"You don't have to answer this if you don't want to... DOn't you and Alli get your periods at the same time becuase of the living together thing? "
we used to, and that was more convenient, but she's got something going on that's made her cycles shorter and shorter, so they don't line up anymore. we think it's uterine cysts, but she needs to go back to the girlie doctor and find out. i'm a really big dork and when we first started getting out of synch, i was like "it's a sign! we're going to break up!" but that was just me being dramatic, heh.
i just called alli and told her what you said about the orgasms. ;)
Why do you hate the keeper? I got a divacup umm... I guess about 4 cycles ago, which I think is the exact same thing but silicone instead of rubber, and I LOVE it. I only have to think about my period twice a day, and I can't feel it anymore than a tampon, and it NEVER leaks unless its full, which has only happened once and it was my fault for leaving it too long, and it doesn't suck up all my natural lube, and no plastic keeping the air from circulating in my underpants, and less cramps ... and lol I could go on, but yeah, I'm curious why you hate it?
Hahahaha. That is dorky but very cute and something a straight girl can be very jealous of. Haha. My mom and I are one week off on our birth control. I am tempted to synch us just because buying the pills would be easier then. Haha. I hope Alli is okay! Yeah I use up lots of batteries when I am trying to make my period go away... Good thing I have black sheets

I really TRIED to like the keeper. I got it after I had Dylan, when I was nursing and cloth diapering and wearing him around in a sling and using cloth pads, and the keeper seemed like a great way to continue being the best little hippie mom in the world. My first time using it, I lost it up there, which led to a pretty interesting phone call to Alli, who was still just my best friend and lived in California at the time. I still have no idea what secret portal it slipped off into, but I finally managed to get it out.
So we didn't get off to a good start, and even now, several years later, it still leaks and hurts to pull out. Like today, I went to the bathroom dutifully before and half way into every class. I heard the slurp sound, had no leakage all the way down the hall, not even when I sat in my desk, but without fail, in each class I was filled with that, "fuuuuuck" sensation of dread as I felt the first little dribbles. When I was walking across campus to my ride, it was just free-flowing all over my jeans. Thank god they were dark. I couldn't even sit down in my friend's car. Taking it out hurts, and I'm always afraid to pull it too hard, like my cervix will fall off into it or something. And I can never manage to pull it out right so I can be like the women in the testimonials, gazing at the glorious little goblet of their own life fluid. It gets all over my hands and makes for a pretty embarrassing scene in public bathrooms if i'm not smooth enough. To the keeper's credit though, nothing works except dorky pads. Insteads leak, and with tampons, all the blood seems to drip down the little string like lemmings into my panties. I'll think the tampon's soaked through, but the top absorbant part will be fine, it's just the fucking string.
I must have a "unique" vagina. It performs all it's other functions very well though, so I guesss I can't complain.
Aren't you glad you asked?! hehe
i have the exact same problems with my tampons... the string is alwys red, so i pull out, yucky feeling of fresh dry cotton coming out, and the damn thing isnt even clean. or i will pee, and the damn toilet paper is bloody so i pull out, and yup, pretty white tampon... my favorite though... is peeing and five minutes later, the damn thing is half falling out, so i walk like an idiot trying to keep it in till i can get to the bathroom.
what is wrong with *my* body?
Some suggestions for this period until you go back to pads:
If its leaking, the seal might not be right. The package tells you to 'twist' it but how to do that with the tiny tail is beyond me, so I find putting my finger up in beside it and running it all the way around helps it to unfold and seal. Or you might have a 'unique vagina' :D
I find it minimises scraping if I try to semi-refold it (how you do when you put it in)
I avoid messes in public bathrooms by not changing it there, I only empty it twice a day, morning and night. (do you really fill it up in half of an hour class?) And I do it in the shower when possible, although I'm getting pretty good at not making a mess.
So yeah, it is a bit more of a hassle per change than tampons, but the small number of changes and increased security between them makes it worth it for me.
My menstrual solution history:
I started with pads. I can't stand pads, they always shift around, which means half of it doesn't end up on the pad, making me paranoid and always adjusting my crotch, and chafe, and restrict air flow making things sweaty and damp.
So I was using tampons, but they leak too much to use without a pantiliner at least, and you can't tell how full they are, and they slurp up my natural lube, but are better than pads.
But as I already explained, I'm very happy with my divacup. :D
Erinn and Julie, the problem can NOT be you guys, it has to be the tampons because I have the exact same problem. I seriously think about this alot during my period. I have come to the conclusion that my vagina can't be causing this problem. I have no scientific research to back this up, but I can feel it in my bones.
