u have to remember that every child is diffrent and that say one child can wean in a month and another it can take up to a year. my sister has been weining her son for abnout 8 months now she is almost finished he is now only nursing like once a day.
Laila started showing signs that she was sick of watching my chest for long periods of time while feeding at around 9 months. More and more she'd try to look around the room or watch the TV while sucking away, which wasn't cool. I was planning on b/fing her until one year, but by the 10th month she was over my chest and ready for a bottle full-time. I put her on formula until her birthday because my boobs had about had it and the pump was even worse on them than her.
However, like Ilana said, it's all about the baby. There's no way to predict.
Your baby is still a newborn... right? If she nurses 12 times a day it will probably take 2 weeks to wean her if she is excusivly breastfed. If you top her off with formula after nursing you will dry up faster as well.
I have more info. You are welcome to PM me if you would like to. I just want you to wean safely. Weaning too fast can cause damage to your breast tissue. You can safely wean within a month- I'm sure- probably closer to 2 weeks!
