Hi everyone.
Last night me and my boyfriend of 1.5 years decided we want to have a baby together, so we are going to TTC right away. I just wanted to know, how long it may take to conceive and when it's best to get fertility drugs if a pregnancy doesn't occur.

First of all, congrats on the decision and the best of luck!
I´m afraid I can´t help you with the stats on how long it may take neither with a fertility drug. To tell you the truth, there´s an inside joke in our family - we usually say that we don´t eve have to have sex in order to conceive - it´s enough when we actually brush our teeth with our partner´s toothbrush. Which actually means that we get pregnant extremely easily.
I can tell you one thing, though: the more anxious you are about conceiving as soon as possible, the lower the chance is. My friend, who´s also a girl-mom got pregnant with her daughter the night she lost her virginity. Now she´s decided she wants another one and she´s longing for a new baby, she wants it so much and is always so dissapointed every month when her period comes ... I´m sure if she would take it easy a little, the chances would be bigger.
Good luck.
You should buy a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Tori Weschler, if you have questions about the timing of intercourse in order to concieve (or not concieve). Public libraries often have a copy of the book as well.
As a younger woman, you are at the peak of your fertility, and conception should not be too too difficult witht he proper timing. As a woman's body ages, her eggs have a lower and lower quality, makign it more and more difficult to have a sustainable pregnancy.
At any rate, check out the book I listed above. It has really helped me to learna phenomenal amount about my body (and natural control over when I do and do not have children).
