not wanting to eat solids anymore

Cheyanne was eating solids for 5 months but suddely she dosen't want to eat any. She is also breastfeed, she has been since she was 8 months old. I had stopped producing milk when she was 2 months old and then I started to relactate when she was 8 months old and she has been breastfed ever since. Now she dosen't want any part of solid food and she stopped eating baby when I started to breastfed but she is 1 and I'm afaid she is not getting enough nutrition with only breastmilk. Is their anyway way that I can get to eat solid food? Thankyou.

One of my sons is doing the same thing right now. he used to eat really well. I've started giving him some baby vitamin supplements and just letting him have formula. We still try to give him solids, but it usually doesn't work out at all. We all end up wearing more than he eats. I don't know what else to do. We, like you, are concerned about him getting everything he needs. His pediatrician told us that as long as he is gaining weight normally and acting normally, not to worry about it. They don't grow as quickly when they get older so they don't always need to eat as much. Also as they get older and the world becomes a more interesting place, they sometimes lose intererst in eating because they just have better things to do. We think that's what is going on with ours. Babies appetites go up and down I guess. Hope this helps you some. I know what you're going throughm.

My son did that when he was around Cheyanne's age, too. Is she teething? I realized that the reason Tavin was doing that was because he was getting his first set of molars in, and it was really bugging him to have anything in his mouth besides liquids. He would just spit the food out or refuse to open his mouth.

Just keep trying, and if it's really worrying you, give your doctor a call. Good luck. :)
