Peanut-free products for school lunches?

Now that kiddo is in kindergarten i'm required to provide a peanut-free snack for him. Does anyone have tips on products that are safe and peanut-free that i could add as a treat for his snack? Any and all suggestions are welcome!

kudos to your school for being peanut free, i work in an allergy clinic and have seen the effects of even accidental exposure of peanut/peanut butter products.

You could always do veggie sticks with ranch dressing, fresh fruit, rasains, if you don't mind candy you could occasianally put candy in there for him.
You could do pretzels, chips, things like that.

Peanut-free products for school lunches?

My son just started JK, too, and I think the peanut-free thing is widespread across Ontario, at least. Here are some things I'm planning on sending Tenzin, most of which I posted in a thread about school lunches in the as they grow forum.

-Green/red, etc., pepper slices
-Baby carrots
-mixed fruit
-mandarin oranges,
-Soygurt (smaller portions in reuseable containers, not the small disposable ones)
-granola bars
-celery sticks with cheese
-cheese and crackers
-flavoured tofu
-sliced apples
-bananas
-fruit salad
-trail mix
-pumpkin or sunflower seeds
-all bran bars
-carnation instant breakfast
-pop tarts
-rice krispie squares
-pudding or jello
-graham crackers
-raisins

I'll add more as I think of them, since I'm in the same situation as you. Hope this helps. :)

We have the same rule. I bought soy bean butter. Looks like peanut butter, even smells like peanut butter, we think it tastes better. You'll just need to pin a note to his shirt the first day he brings it so the teacher doesn't take it away.
