so i'm eighteen and a half weeks pregnant, and last week when i was at the movies, i could swear i felt it moving around in there. you know, the butterfly feeling and such, and then it happened every once in a while for the next few days. but now i don't really feel anything. i still have all the symptoms and every once in a while i get a feeling like, "was that it moving?" but i can't be sure. i don't really know why posted this. i guess just to make myself feel better.
has this been the case with anyone else?

Sure it's possible! You're right in the average gestation in which people generally start to feel it.
The first time I felt fetal movement was while I was at a movie, too. :)
Oh, and welcome to GM! Please go make an intro in Greetings & Salutations so we can get to know you better!
i remember t he first time i felt riley kick. i also remember waiting for it to happen again and getting freaked out. just wait, he/she will be kicking up a storm soon!!!
i know i'm right about the time when i should start feeling it, but i'm worried that i haven't really been feeling anything for the last few days.
Sometimes fetal position can account for periods without movement. The baby may be kicking towards your back rather than your belly. As your pregnancy progresses, the kicking will become more clear and more frequent.
i'm trying not to worry about it since i have a doctor's appointment on wednesday, but i just really wish i would feel it move, you know?
then again, i'm one of those moms who has been nervous my whole pregnancy. every week i come up with a brand new thing to get really nervous/upset about.
im sure the fetus is fine!! :) wait until he/she gets up in your rib cage, you'll be saying STOP KICKIN! hahah :P
when the fetus is smaller you wont feel most of its movements, i'm sure nothing is wrong. What you felt was probably a big movement for it, and when it gets bigger you will feel the smaller movements that you arent feeling now.
I am 19 weeks and I first felt movement at 16 weeks. I heard that it just depends on how much you weigh, how thick or thin your uterus is, or how sensitive you are to movement. My baby has been quite chill lately too. Personally I dont mind her taking a kicking vacation. She always gets me right when I get to my Anthroplogy class!
I personally, have what appears to be a very lazy baby!!!
I felt movements around the same time as you, but....they never were what people say they were. I was told that they would keep me up at night, hurt my rib cage, ect. I sleep right through them, and ive never had a PAINFUL kick. I was soo worried, I went to L&D, because i was sure something was wrong. He was fine. I have had two ultrasounds showing a very healthy baby.....Some babies just arnt big movers. I was told NEVER to compare my movements to another women, because nothing is normal, and every mother and baby is different.
thank you guys so much, because i've been so worried. i feel something every couple days or so, but every day between those is hell. i can't wait until i go to the doctor next week so i can have an ultrasound and hopefully feel better about everything.
