Can teething cause ear pain?

Okay, Maddie is two... so she's cutting some molars. She's got one through, and 3 more that are right beneath the skin - and her gums are pretty puffy and swollen.

The last week, she's been waking up all night and being really whiny, but tonight she's been crying and screaming and saying "ow" and holding her mouth, so I assumed it was just her teeth and gave her teething tablets and tylenol... but then she started pulling on her ear and going "ear! ear!"

She's never had an ear infection, but she's been kind of mucusy... so, what do you think?

i'd think it might be a mild ear infection, try some tylenol and a decongestant for kiddos (the grape dimetapp is so good!) - that should help in the meantime before you get it checked out.
