abdominal question...

I remember reading about a condition where your abdominal muscles separate during pregnancy, and I have always thought I had it. (my daughter is 2 now) Well for some reason I decided to look the issue up on the internet today, and I found a site where people asked questions and other people (some doctors) gave advice. They were talking about this condition, diastasis recti or rectus diastasis, and how NOT to do abdominal exercises if you have it. And they also mentioned something about your stomach bulging when you strain it--which mine does!! Does anyone know about this condition? Apparently it's supposed to pretty much go away after a while...but here I am 2 years later! They also said that it isn't a problem if the separation is 2 finger widths or less. Mine is less, but why do I get the bulging? If anyone knows anything about this, or has the same thing, I would love any input! Thanks in advance...

abdominal question...

I know im not going to be of much help but I have heard of this, i think this is why they say not to do any abdominal specific exercise during pregnancy because your abdominal muscles move apart...but thats not to say that you did, I just mean I know ive heard of this before.

Did you do abdominal exercises soon after birth? Because as far as I know that is fine (as long as you are up to it of course) because thats what my mum did and her nurse told her the earlier after birth she started doing them, the better her muscles would go back into shape...if that makes any sense for you... Sorry im probably not any help at all but i would also be interested to find out more about it because its not something anyone seems to mention.
